Off the Streets assists families and individuals in Dauphin County communities, helping them transition from the streets into stable housing.
Furniture
- Gently used loveseats, upholstered chairs, end tables, coffee tables, and TV stands
- Small kitchen tables and chairs
- Microwave stands
- Dressers, chests of drawers, nightstands, queen/full/twin/toddler bed frames
- Gently used queen, full, and twin mattresses
- Relatively new cribs (less than 5 years old) and gently used crib mattresses
What We Do Not Accept:
- Items that are ripped, torn, stained, smell of smoke, pet hair, badly faded, broken, written on, or heavily scratched
- Sectionals, glass-top tables, large hutches/armoires, sleeper sofas/loveseats, motorized chairs/loveseats
Household Items
- Plates/cups: sets of 4 minimum
- Glass and plastic drinking glasses or cups
- Plastic dishes/cups for small children
- Eating and cooking utensils
- Pots, pans, cookie sheets, casserole dishes, mixing bowls, flour/sugar canisters, salt & pepper shakers, measuring spoons/cups, liquid measuring cups
- Toasters, toaster ovens, coffee makers, tea kettles, handheld mixers, blenders, crockpots, microwaves, air fryers, vacuum cleaners
- Small waste baskets, kitchen waste baskets, toothbrush holders
- Kitchen towels, cloths, potholders
- Lamps (floor, large, and small table lamps)
- Fans and window air conditioning units
What We Do Not Accept:
- Heavily stained or scratched items
- Chipped dishes or glasses
- Dishes/glassware in less than sets of 4
New Cleaning Items
- Mops, brooms, cleaning buckets, toilet bowl brushes, laundry baskets
- Cleaning cloths, sponges, scrub brushes, SOS/Brillo pads
- All-purpose spray cleaner, window cleaner, dish soap, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, bleach, floor cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, bathroom cleaner
- Bar/liquid body soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand soap
Bedroom & Bathroom Linens
- Gently used sheets, blankets, comforters, towels, washcloths
- New pillows
What We Do Not Accept:
- Ripped/torn, faded, or stained sheets, blankets, comforters, towels
- Incomplete sheet sets
- Decorative throw pillows
